Breakthrough Skill Upgrade

Breakthrough recommendations:

  • 1 Star: Unlock a lot of upgrade features such as microchips and awakening. It will also increase a lot the SPD when entering the battle

  • 4 Stars: Reduce the cooldown period for his fatal protection. If the Pagoda protection was broken before Takutoumon's active turn, after Takutoumon takes his action, his Pagoda layer will refresh again.

  • 5 Stars: Makes his Isolated mark lasts longer, hence would be able to inflict the mark on Sakuyamon X and any other Digimon who could reduce the duration of Negative Mark.

  • 6 Stars: The increase in his Negative Halo effect is very significant

1 Star (Cháoshuǐ Yǒng Dòng / Tide Surges Lvl. 2)

Each layer of Rising Tide provides SPD +20 and Damage Reduction +2% to Takutoumon

Stats Boost : 1000 Status Resistance

2 Stars (Tettensaisai / Iron Sky Crush Lvl. 2)

AP consumption -1, number of Rising Tide layers needed to inflict Isolation -2

Stats Boost : 5% Damage Reduction

3 Stars (Jūn Shén Zhòng Quán / God Of War Punch Lvl. 2)

Number of Debuff-Type Abnormal Status that could be cleansed +1, and the ATK buff ratio granted to all allies +10%

Stats Boost : 1500 Status Resistance

4 Stars (Cháoshuǐ Yǒng Dòng / Tide Surges Lvl. 3)

Pagoda fatal protection cooldown period -1 round

Stats Boost : 5% Damage Reduction

5 Stars (Tettensaisai / Iron Sky Crush Lvl. 3)

Isolated mark lasting for +1 additional rounds

Stats Boost : 10% Damage Reduction

6 Stars (Cháoshuǐ Yǒng Dòng / Tide Surges Lvl. 4)

Each layer of Surge reduce the enemy's ATK by another 2%, DEF by another 2%, and SPD by another 50 points.

Stats Boost : 150 SPD, 10% Damage Reduction

Build Recommendation

Digimon New Century is a game where your DPS unit could act as a Control unit, and your Support unit could act as your DPS unit. They are so expandable. This recommendation only offers the basic look to how you could set this unit up, but don't be so rigid, try out your own unique build, it surely would fit your team better.

  1. Takutoumon is not a SPD buffer, but he reduces the enemy's SPD. Hence, his 'SPD buff' can be stacked with other SPD buffers such as Sleipmon X, Sakuyamon X and Erlangmon BM.

  2. Takutoumon's Pagoda fatal protection works the same way as Dukemon CM and KingEtemon's protection, which means, after the Pagoda protection is broken, when it's Takutoumon's turn to act, he can override to refresh it, or if you're using 4 stars Takutoumon, after he takes an action, the protection will be refreshed immediately. This is different from Magnamon X's fatal protection. Magnamon X needs to wait until the start of the next round to refresh his Light Shield protection.

  3. Takutoumon would be unable to provide his protection if the ally is Isolated. When the Pagoda icon is visible on top of Takutoumon's HP bar, the fatal protection effect is active. Additionally, Isolated effect is unavailable in PVE mode.

  4. If Takutoumon is using his Normal Skill outside of his active turn, Water element allies including himself would still able to gain Rising Tide from it. With this in mind, if you're using Water team, or if one of your teammates crucially needs Rising Tide to get special effects, such as Gabumon BF, MetalSeadramon and Xuanwumon, you could use Combo core on someone else to trigger this effect and provide additional Rising Tide.

  5. Erlangmon BM can prevent Takutoumon from inflicting his Isolated mark, because every time Erlangmon BM gets additional action, Takutoumon will consume 2 layers of Rising Tide trying to inflict Frozen status to Erlangmon BM. Unless, Takutoumon is faster and uses his Main Skill before Erlangmon BM takes his turn.

  6. When you're going agaisnt Dukemon X, don't even try to inflict Isolated mark, because Dukemon X gets a Mark Immunity at the start of each round, which would resist the effect of that mark.

  7. Takutoumon needs his exclusive microchip core to prevent his SPD advantages from being reduced after an enemy makes a move. By using his exclusive microchip core, once he uses his Main Skill, you're gonna get 100 SPD advantage after an ally takes active action, which can get as high as 700 SPD advantage, which is pretty huge.

Arts

Normal Skill (Tenseizan / Sky Star Slash)

Attack a single target 2 times, dealing 75% damage each, with 100% fixed chance to grant all Water element allies with 1 layer of Rising Tide.

( Rising Tide: A unique stack for Water element Digimon. It can enable various bonus effects according to the number of layers. Can stack up to 10 layers.)

Main Skill (Tettensaisai / Iron Sky Crush)

Afterwards, grant Status Immunity to all allies, lasting for 2 rounds.

When Takutoumon has at least 9 layers of Rising Tide, there is a 100% fixed chance to inflict the target with Isolated mark, lasting for 1 round.
