Digimon New Century is a game where your DPS unit could act as a Control unit, and your Support unit could act as your DPS unit. They are so expandable. This recommendation only offers the basic look to how you could set this unit up, but don't be so rigid, try out your own unique build, it surely would fit your team better.

Barbamon X usually acts as Dark team's enabler, making the highest Dark attacker to launch Normal Skill follow-up attack after the enemy takes an action. For this reason, if you're not actually using Barbamon X for his Crystallized debuff or Control Status ability, it is best to choose tanky build for him, making sure he lasts longer in the battle.
Dark element units have their own unique advantage with the existence of Eclipse mark. For this reason, they don't need as much Status Hit compared to other elements.
Barbamon X doesn't really needs his exclusive microchip core to function properly, but having it could provide a huge advantage, especially if he gets Wind Crystal during Live PVP, which will reduce the enemy's SPD by -300.
